The purpose of present study was to explore the method of promoting the adaptive help-seeking behavior of collegiate student majored in physical education,by checking the relationship between their academic help-seeking behaviors and goal orientation,self-efficacy,and sense of responsibility, aiming in improving the quality of sports talents and providing theoretical and practical strategies for the promotion of quality education in universities.259 collegiate P.E.students from Grade 1 to 3,from 4 universities of Hunan province participated in the investigation with Academic Help-seeking Questionnaire,Self-confidence Scale, the Task-Ego Orientation Scale in Sport, and Responsibility Inventory. It aimed to explore two questions:The first one was whether P.E.students had differences among genders,specialty,non-only-child or only child and grades in academic help-seeking behaviors;while the second one was the relationship among the P.E.students' academic help-seeking behaviors and the three factors of the student's academic goal orientation, self-efficacy and a sense of responsibility. Results showed that:1)In instrumental help-seeking,main effects of gender, grade, specialty and only child or non-only-child(ONC)were observed.2-dimension interaction effects of gender×grade,as well as gender×ONC were observed. While 3-dimension interaction effect of grade×ONC×specialty was also observed.2)In executive help-seeking,main effects of grade,ONC,and specialty were observed.3-dimension interaction effect of gender×ONC×specialty was also observed.3)In avoidance of help-seeking,main effects of grade and specialty were observed. 2-dimension interaction effects of gender×grade,as well as genders×ONC were also observed.Specifically,in grade one,it has some difference in avoidance of help-seeking between males and females, but, with the grades increased,it gradually appeared significant differences. 4)Academic help-seeking behaviors were significantly affected by goal orientation,self-efficacy and responsibility. It appeared that there were positive correlation between task-orientation,self-efficacy, responsibility and instrumental help-seeking.Negative correlations were observed between task-orientation,self-efficacy,responsibility and un-adaptive help-seeking behaviors. It was concluded that, currently, the adaptive help-seeking behaviors of P.E.students was all right.P.E.students' adaptive help-seeking behaviors were significantly impacted by gender, grade, specialty,ONC,and their interactions.Task orientation,self-efficacy and responsibility could efficiently predict their academic help-seeking behavior. This research had 2 defects:First, little sample size with narrow sample range;second, structural validation of scales was not conducted during the study due to some words or even structure adjustment fitting for the background of the research, therefore the functional equivalence with the original scales was ignored.
