Teacher professional development is related to the basic education reform's success.Right now,rural teachers account for a large proportion, so to promote the professional development of teachers in rural areas is particularly important.In this study,use rural middle school teachers in Liling City,Hunan Province as an investigate object,analysis the status quo of teachers professional development in rural middle school,in order to overcome obstacles and promote the teacher professional development in rural areas,and make some suggestions to promote basic education development faster and better.This study was divided into five parts:Partâ… summarizes the background of title selected and the value of this study,then make comments with previous studies.Partâ…¡introduce the concept of teacher professional development, mining the connotation of teacher professional development,analysis the main level,explained the significance of teacher professional development.The third part,through questionnaires and interviews to study the status quo of rural middle school teachers.Analysis the collected data of rural middle school teacher professional development status and barriers to analyze the overall situation,and then the different variables under the status and professional development of teachers hindered the extent of difference analysis.Finally,barriers to rural professional development of teachers hinder the extent of correlation analysis.Partâ…£is the results of statistical analysis.The study shows that the professional development of teachers in rural areas is above the middle level,the development of teacher professional philosophy and professional competence level is better than professional knowledge and expertise in the affective dimension.Teachers in the individual level, school level,social level and family level are the obstacles of teacher professional development.Partâ…¤put forward the Countermeasures to overcome obstacles of rural teachers professional development.Teachers are the main self-identity in professional development.At the meanwhile,schools and society have to create a good external environment to promote teacher professional development faster and better.
