The high school English teaching guarantees the whole English teaching process develop healthily and efficiently. In this process, English teacher plays a very vital role. In order to achieve the high school English teacher specialization development, we not only promote English education development, but also make sure the English teacher specialization development. In recent years, with our basic education deepens, the high school English education of rural area has arouse much attention of some education administration department. But as the rural area is far from the development area and its backward economy, the high school English education is facing a lot of problems. In order to ensure rural high school English develop healthily、orderly、persistently, one necessary way is to improve the rural high school English teacher Professional quality.This essay start from Yunnan rural junior high school English education environment, and this survey choose 150 teachers from 16 cities of the national project as our object. This survey includes several aspects as follows: English teachers’ knowledge, teachers’ teaching professional view, teachers’ teaching ability, teachers’ self-development consciousness and teaching method. On this basis, through the present situation of rural English teachers’ professional development, comprehensively know the problems and the obstacles. On this basis, I try to find out the obstacles in order to give some suggestions and to advance Yunnan rural high school teachers’ development.
