The Study On Social Services Functions Of Colleges And Universities In Guangxi Province

Studies on Social services functions of colleges and universities have a long history in foreign countries.Chinese scholars research the promble beginning from 20th century 80's.It has been switched to a new stage as soon as Chinese economy development derived a new binary pattern. Western Region Development Strategy creates opportunities and challenges in Guangxi.Preferential policies and financial assistance provide a powerful external support for Guangxi,but to ensure sustained,healthy and stable development,Guangxi must improve itself-construction.Eventually to enhanc the building of power is up to the talent and technology.Guangxi colleges and Universities are the cradle of localization personnel training,the powerhouse for supporting the sustainable development of Guangxi.So exerting the hematopoietic function of Guangxi Colleges and universities and expanding their social services functions,results to drive Guangxi forward.In this study,the author analyzes the distribution of Guangxi colleges and universities,the categories of structural,the cultivation of masters and doctors as for generally observing the potential of social services functions of colleges and universities in Guangxi.Selecting present, specialist and higher vocational colleges in Guangxi,a total of 10,to which the author conducte a questionnaire survey from the aspects of personnel training,science and technology Service,relationship between colleges,universities and community,supervision and promote on the community,awareness and attitude of social services in colleges and universities,etc.The author chooses 6 interviewers from 4 typical target colleges and universities,then gets information face-to-face in order to know the colleges and universities how to carry out their social services functions,and kown their strengths,weaknesses and difficulties when they provide services for the sociaty,and kown their future planning. Reference to the empirical results and statistical information,we access to know the general situation of social services of Guangxi colleges and universities.Combing with theories and realities,the author analyzes one gap on social services of colleges and universities in Guangxi,which exists in weak awareness,teachers' inert reaction to social service, shortcomings of cultivating localization talent and scientific research to serve the community,loose information relation among the government, the society and colleges and universities,imbalance among the industrial sector,academia and the research sector,imperfect relevant laws and regulations,immature safeguard mechanisms,etc.Correspondingly,from aspects of concepts,capacities,general contacts and systems,the author looks for the underlying causes,and explores countermeasures.
