People think that tennis may become the mostprofitable sport industry in china, because it has both social value andecnomic value, and it's easy to absorb foreign countries' developingexperience of tennis. But in reality, those commercial sport places such asgolf hall, bowling hall and tennis hall are all in poor status. This thesis, basing on sociology, sport economics and sports administration, adoptingdocumentary, questionnaire, field investigation, comparative method, induction method and mathematical statistics method, made a study onthe tennis halls in changsha city, revealed the characteristic of tenniss andoperaton feactures of tennis hall, analyzed the factors that may haveeffect on the operation of tennis hall, and made some suggestonsaccordingly. This thesis found that: Changsha city has not enough tennis halls, and the tennis halls in Changsha are not evenly distributed, so people's basic needs for tennis is not satisfied. What's more, the most managers and trainers in tennis halls are not good at tennis operation, the managers either did not value on propaganda, or only use very simply ways such as posters and leaflets for ads; and tennis is a relative expensive sport, those lowly paid people can not afford; tennis's skill dis-interested many customer; managers are always stressng on economic benefit, but ignoring social benefit. Based on these findings, this thesis suggests the following strategy: we should break traditional concept, open up new market, explore new operaton model, cultivate sport managers, and form and complete regulations and laws for tennis market to make sure that thennis halls can develop in a sustainable way.
