A Study Of Campus Culture In Chunhui Secondary School(1922-1928)

Today there are various kinds of problems existing in the campus culture construction of secondary school, such as the bias and one-sidness in mind, emptiness and mess in practice. People are used to find the answer in the finite time and space, but neglect to look back to the historic cases.In the 1920s, education reformer Jing Hengyi and local merchant Chen Chunlan established the private Chunhui Secondary School, situated by the banks of the Baima Lake, in Zhejiang Province's Shangyu Village . Many outstanding educators such as Xia Mianzun, Feng Zikai and Zhu Ziqing, joined the school for pursuing the "pure education". In the beginning few years the Chunhui Secondary School grows up to a famous school, whose campus culture construction got high achievement. It became well-known and got much praises. But, from then on, the Chunhui School faded away as a trite figure from the historic horizons, and its culture decomposed as a nearly ideal status.The thesis of this paper is to enlighten today's campus culture construction through exploring the wonderful history of Chunhui School's culture and tasting its procedure of development. Part 1 is "the formation of Chunhui Secondary School's campus culture". This part mainly discusses its social and cultural background, the subject and original starting point. Part 2 is "the details of Chunhui Secondary School's campus culture", we will appreciate material culture involving nature beauty and humanity depth, the advance democratic institutional culture, the substantial and diverse action culture and find out the spiritual culture which hides deeply in these appearances . Part 3 is "the devolution of Chunhui Secondary School's campus culture". This part mainly focuses on revealing the devolution of Chunhui campus culture and analyzing the reasons of its devolution. The epilogue will return to the original question, talking about the enlightenments from the development of Chunhui Secondary School's culture.
