During the planned economy period, a set of production areas and residential units as a whole community, which is built to meet the need of country construction. On one hand, the community units of social have earned a strong unit identity between both wokers and their family members. On the other hand, that has virtually lead to separate themeself from local units. With the development of the units'system reform, the social functions of the units have transferred to the community. And whether it is available for the original unit of community residents to gain the regional identity of the local place by shifting from the original one? This paper uses an oilfield community as an example ,and it begins with the process of community change to explore the geographical identity of residents in the community .This article chooses the residents of a mining area in Zhongyuan oilfield as the object of study. This community has quite a typical experience during the develping the development and reform of the oilfield.as the last battle-formedbig oilfieldin the planned economy period, because of the special difficulties of the early condition, Zhongyuan oilfield established dozens of bases for producing and living in the north and south of Yellow River, and the field work place of this article is sitted in one ofthosebases. In order to develop the oilfield ,the wokers moved their homes there, and their family members got jobs under the help of the oilfield, moreover, they become urban citizens from famers. In this way, the community residents not only to achieve the transformation of the residential place, but also their status. Living in the oil fields, workers and their families became field's person, creating a strong identity of the unit. From1990s, confronting the predicament in development, Zhongyuan oilfield began to reform. After the reform, the community separate itsself from units ,and deepened their contaction with other places, and the geographical identity of the field's people had also shown a new situation.Through the study, we can found that: a community built totally by immigrants, the culture of the original residents and corporate's interact to each other, forming a new style of culture. At the same time, a new identity - unit recognition is emergenced inevitably. During the planned economy period, the community units of enterprise society type which separate themeself from local units have earned a strong unit identity between both wokers and their family members. During the reform of downsizing for efficiency, wokers and their family members show various changes, such as early retirement, dissolution of the labor contract agreement, Self-employment and so on. With the development of the units'system reform, the social functions of the units have transferred to the community, which makes the border between original unit places and region begin to blur , and the original units of community residents strengthen ties with the local place. In the New Period, the residents' identity in units community composed of migrants no longer limited to their hometown and units, but showed a variety of forms, such as the original rural identity, units' identity, the original rural home with the new home of the double identity and so on. Geographical identity is not only to the place of residence and household register ,what's more, it is a cognitive significance, attaching to the space , with the carrier of culture . It is a sense of belonging. Of course, the foemation of new geographical-identity needs a process when mergeg the regional community. The intermediate state from the original residence to the new community is an inevitable phenomenonin the process of the cultural mergennce. With the accumulation of experience over time, the puzzle of regional identity of migration will be disappeared.
