This study is an empirical study of the consultation needs of families with disabled children,using a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods,from the information,rehabilitation,education,psychological,economic and social aspects to investigate their consultation needs,from the perspectives of the parents and the managers to learn the present situations of consultation services of families with disabled children.The results are as follows:1.Families with disabled children have different degrees of information, rehabilitation,education,psychological,economic and social needs,of which they want the information most,and the next are social,economic,rehabilitation,psychology, education consultation needs.2.The needs which families with disabled children want most are closely related to social,medical,education,rehabilitation,legal,consulting,occupational,speech, communication,behavior guidance,friendship information and so on.3.Parent sex,age,family monthly income,occupation and educational level did not affect the consultation need of families.4.There was a significant difference between variables of the subject source,age of disabled children,the levels of disabilities,the disability type and the consultation needs of families.The survey on parents with disabled children and managers reveals that the consultation channels of families with disabled children are not smooth.The main reasons are as follows:(1) lack of enough attention from the government;(2) lack of cooperation between various departments;(3) inadequate investment in the economy;(4) lack of professional consultation organizations and staff;(5) the too-narrow scope of community services;(6) not enough publicity;(7) some parents lacking a strong sense of consulting.
