The purpose of which human grasps concept is to solve the problem he faces. Problem-solving is regarded as an advanced form of thinking activity,and teaching students to solve problem also is one of the most important targets of school education. In fact all of us are problem-solvers,because a person is carrying on the process of problem-solving throughout all his life span,from beginning reading to dealing with a variety of complex affairs encountered in work and everyday life.The psychological mechanism of human solving problems has been the focus of psychological research topics.Accompanied by the development of psychology,problem-solving theory has gone through "trial errors" of behaviorism school,"insight" of the Gestalt school and the modern information processing theory,etc.phases.Among them,the modern information processing theory represented by Simon and Anderson as well as the modern constructivism idea have a broad and far-reaching impact on the current school education all over the world.The physics teaching based on problem-solving is one of teaching model arising from the school innovation that promoted by these two theories.This article mainly consists of five parts.In the part one it firstly introduced the background of research on teaching based on problem-solving,and then by investigating the literature it discussed the trend of the research at present.The second part stated the basic point of view about teaching based problem-solving in information processing theory and constructive theory.The third part defined and clarified some basic concepts in terms psychology and pedagogy theory.The fourth part went further to analysize the factors that influence the secondary school students to solve physics problems,which include the cognitive structure,the problem representation, stereotyped thinking pattern,thinking strategy and meta-cognitive skills and so on. Based on the investigation above,a set of suggestions on the physics teaching of problem-solving are stated as follows:to enable students to grasp the general steps of solving physics problems,to create a situation for in teaching,to form an effective cognitive structure,to present appropriate number of ill-structured problems for students,to train students' thinking strategies in solving physics problem,and to cultivate students' meta-cognitive skills.At the same time,some details in the implementation of physics teaching based on problem-solving are specified in combination with several relevant examples.
