By teaching chemistry module to senior 3 for two years, I regonized that problems visualization via self-understanding is essential to solve chemistry problems in college entrance examination. The whole process is what we called problem representation, which is a critical precondition to track down the answers of problems. While, the key element of prolblem representation is image schema. Therefore, it is another meaningful research topic to which extent that the activation of imange schema will raise up understanding of problmes.The research is completed by reviewing large amount of literature, learning the research methods of other scholars, analysing general questions of studying, making questionnaires in order to explore the impact of image schema on high school students’chemistry problems visualization.Meanwhile, the research proposed the teaching approach including mind map and concept map, aiming at forming the knowledge system and improving the ability of image schema.This article consists of the follwing six parts:Part 1 is to introduce the reason for choosing this topic and research of current situa-tion.Part 2 is to discourse analysis on the theoretical foundation of schematic representation, the type of graphic thinking and representation system model in the view of psychology.Part 3 is to make the conclusion via teaching practice and introduce the application of graphic thinking in chemistry problem representation. State the construction method of graphic thinking during teaching chemistry and application of graphic thinking in chemistry problem representation by the specific problem.Part 4 is to effective test on graphic thinking in chemistry problem representation. Propose a new method to test the graphic thinking level. Make the analysis on representation difference between excellent grades and poor grades. In the end, design the experiments and make detailed analysis on effectiveness of graphic thinking in chemistry problem representation.Part 5 is to make practice in developing graphic thinking in chemistry teaching and introduce the application of graphic thinking in teaching in the view of new and revision lesson.Part 6 is to conclusion and prospect. Make conclusion and rethinking about the research, and put forward the prospects on the application of graphic thinking in problem representation.
