Chinese And Foreign Men Decathlon Athletes Excellent Comparative Study Of Results

Decathlon was formally established in the Fifth Olympic Games in 1912. It is a comprehensive competition event which consists of ten separate events in three parts : running, jumping, and throwing. Although decathlon is an event established very early in our country, the situation of decathlon in China is far behind the levels of other countries in the world. One of our counties'excellent athletes, Mr Qihaifeng had made a historical progress in this event in recent years, however, the whole level of this event in our country is in the trend of backward. Therefore, based on the investigation methods of using material, comparison, logstics analysis, and statistics, etc., this thesis will study the development trend of the Chinese and foreign decathlon in the last twenty years, and the relationship in nature between the total achievements of decathlon and its respective event. This thesis will also systematically analyze the gap between our counties'ancathlete and foreign ancathlete by comparatively analyzing the achievements of thirty Chinese and foreign decathletes in this event in recent years from deferent angles. At last, this thesis will discuss and analyze the case of Linqinquan, the most important athlete in our country, for the Olympic Games in 2008.The results of research are as following:(1) The foreign general developing trend of the achievements of Male Decathlon has already founded the variety characteristics basing on the period of large games for instance Olympic games and World Championships,and the achievements are improving steadily without large wave. Comparatively, the achievements of Chinese Male Decathlon represents the variety characteristics basing on the period of National Games, and the general level has successively experienced three stage of great improving, steadily developing and appreciably retrograding through 20 years.(2) During last 20 years, the variety curves of the best achievements of Chinese and Foreign Male Decathlon did not appear to be synchronous. The annual best achievements of the world were steadily improving before 2001, and retrograded after 2001. On the contrary, after retrograding in almost 10 years, by the appearance of the outstanding athleteQihaifeng, the disparity of the annual best achievements between China and the world are reducing in recent years. However, the improving of the individual achievement could not cover up the retrograding of the general level of Chinese Decathlon.(3) As it is shown in the result of gray conjunction analysis, the compositor of the influence of foreign athletes to the general achievements are as following: long jumpï¹¥100mï¹¥hurdleï¹¥400mï¹¥pole-vaultï¹¥high jumpï¹¥shotï¹¥discusï¹¥javelinï¹¥1500m; and the compositor of Chinese athletes are: hurdleï¹¥long jumpï¹¥100mï¹¥400mï¹¥high jumpï¹¥pole-vaultï¹¥shotï¹¥javelinï¹¥discusï¹¥1500m; But, from the point of view of the clarifying of Decathlon, the compositors of Chinese and Foreign athletes in score, percent and conjunction are exactly same, namely speed eventsï¹¥jumping eventsï¹¥throwing eventsï¹¥stamina events. (4) The result of the single factor analysis among the achievements of Chinese and foreign athletes in single items, clarifying items and general achievements shows that the compositors of the disparity of ten separate items are: 100mï¹¥hurdleï¹¥pole-vaultï¹¥long jumpï¹¥shotï¹¥400mï¹¥discusï¹¥high jumpï¹¥1500mï¹¥javelin;. The compositors of clarifying items are: jumping eventsï¹¥speed eventsï¹¥throwing eventsï¹¥stamina events.(5) The result of the research of factors structure of the general achievements of Chinese and foreign outstanding decathletes, by the analysis manner of factors analysis, shows that the factors structure of the general achievements of Male Decathlon consist of 4 main factors, which are the factors of speed and explosive force represent for instance hurdle,long jump,100m, the factors of power for instance javelin,discus,shot and pole-vault, the factors of dexterity for instance high jump, and the factors of speed and stamina for instance 400m and 1500m. The research shows that these 4 factors are concerned with speed quality, and this discovers the characteristic of the Male Decathlon that its core is speed.(6) We established the multi regress formula of the achievements of Male Decathlon by adopting the manner of models by using the achievements of 10 separate items as the independent variable and using the general achievements as the dependent variable. Through examinations of samples, the precision of the formula reaches 99% or even more, therefore, this formula shall be used as the forecast model of the achievements of Chinese and foreign outstanding decathletes.(7) The analysis of individual case of Chinese outstanding decathlete Linqinquan shows that his advantageous targets are long jump,hurdle, 100m, 400m,discus,,high jump, and pole-vault, and week targets are javelin,1500m, and shot; his light avoirdupois leads to lower achievements of throwing items, and affects improvement of speed items and jumping items, and affects the further improvement of general achievements. However, Linqinquan has greater advantages on athletic age. Therefore, if he can strengthen the quality of muscle and intensify speed practice, Linqinquan may bring another surprise to China in the 2012 Ludun Olympic games.
