Secondary vocational education, as an important compound of education system in China, from 1949 to 2009, in the sixty years of development, has trained a great number of primary and skilled talent people. At present, it has made a great of achievement, while it still has a lot of advantages .The author studies the trace of the sixty's development as a starting point to start the study.Firstly, study gives a general description of developing history of the secondary vocational education in China after founding. And its purpose is to demonstrate developing trace of the secondary vocational education in past sixty years. The whole developing trace can be divided into four stages: The shaping of the frameworks stage (1949-1957) ; Fluctuation stage( 1958-1965) ; Destruction stage (1966-1976) ; The recovery and development stage (1977-1998);The challenges stage (1999- )。Study relies on the trace of time, centered on the major factors constituting of the education. These are the significant documents and measures issued by National education department, the developing of its style and scale, the construction of the teaching staff, the training objectives, the curriculum and instruction reform, and the study of secondary vocational education.The second part focuses on the achievement. Mainly about increasing the size of education, Services has continuously increased its ability, Thought running a school has changed; Educational reform has deepen; education funding has increased, Student Financial Assistance System has established.The third part and disadvantages in the whole development. The disadvantages are mainly as follows: Social recognition of secondary vocational education is low; Shortage of teachers , Difficulties in recruitment and Employment; Management system chaos; and shortage of education founding .The last part of the study, on the basis of the description, analyses the factors that influence the shaping of the trace. I make great effort to have found some implications for the secondary vocational education at the present: Take measures to improve the status of secondary vocational education; change The concept of employment; Take measures to train teachers, Enhance the quality of teacher ; find the right location of the system In order to survive in the competition, reform the system of school , Adjust the Professional; Speed up to reform the Management system, Increase the Manpower of the government ; Broaden the Investment channels. Increase the education founding.
