On Developing Middle School Students' Reflecting Ability Of Mathematics Learning

Reflective learning is a completely new learning method that evolved from curriculum reform, the whole process is through a continual process of reflection on the learning process for learning; thus applying the refection to the mathematical learning can not only well grasped the knowledge and paving the way for future learning but also highlighting the cultivation for mathematic ability and strengthening the understanding of mathematic and confidence in applied mathematics. While the circumstance of students learning to reflect is not satisfactory, it mainly reflects in the following aspects: First the insufficient understanding of learning to reflect on, the majority of students rarely reflect on, and some even do not reflect.Second not clearly know the content and material for reflection and do not know which aspect they can learn from reflection; Third being confused in reflection methods, lacking of reflection skills and also do not know how to reflect. Therefore, there is an urgent need to increase the awareness of students to reflect on, and optimize the content of learning for reflection, to enable students to master the necessary methods and skills of reflection.The reflective mathematics learning plays a dominant role in mathematics learning activities while it is also the weakest link at present stage. Thus this dissertation it will address theory of reflection in detail, the types of reflection learning ability, the significance of reflective mathematics learning and the matters that will affect on the improvement of the reflective mathematics learning. Also it will demonstrate that the "Learning to Learn" oriented education is to cultivate the reflective learning ability of students. Furthermore this dissertation involves some research and experimental practice for how to cultivate the reflective mathematics learning ability, Aims at providing the reference for the teaching practice and research related practice.
