Problem-solving teaching model is a teaching model which USA mathematics educational circles first advocated and developed in 1980's. It has not only been widely promoted as a teaching reform having strategic significance in the United States, but also has aroused extensive inflections in the world educational circles. Problem-solving teaching model centers on solving problems, attaches importance to combine independent research with cooperative inquiry, and with a view to bring up the students'higher order abilities, such as solving problem, innovation, critical thinking, decision-making, cooperation and so on. This has referential significance to quality education being carrying out in our country. Along with human stepping into the information age, modern information technology infiltrates into the field of education continuously, which takes multimedia computer technology and network communication technology as the core. And it has had a certain influence to problem-solving teaching model. Information technology with digital, multimedia, network and intelligent features, can undoubtedly provide more forceful support with carrying out problem-solving teaching model effectively.This paper takes geometry of junior middle school as the study objects. Under the guidance of constructivism, problem-solving teaching theory as well as the concept of new curriculum reform, the author makes theoretical discussion on problem-solving teaching model in the information technology environment. First of all, on the basis of much literature investigations and questionnaire, from the view of the theory and practice, the author reviews the present research status at home and abroad on the two aspects of mathematics problem-solving teaching and integrating information technology into geometry curriculum, and then concludes the existing inadequate in our country at present. Secondly, analyze the content characteristic and teaching characteristic of geometry curriculum of junior middle school, and divide the types of geometry course of junior middle school according to the difference of teaching content. Then find the teaching difficulties and solutions of geometry of junior middle school from the two view of the subject content and problem-solving teaching model, in order to determine the teaching integrative points. Thirdly, based on the identification of the teaching integrative point, construct problem-solving teaching model which different types of geometry course of junior middle school suitable for in the information technology environment. There are three types including the new lesson, the exercise / review lesson and activity lesson suitable for. Finally, based on problem-solving teaching model of different course types suitable for, design the corresponding cases of instructional design and evaluation rubric of teaching effect, so as to provide the reference on problem-solving teaching design of junior middle school geometry and implementation of the teaching model in the information technology environment.
