Constructive Play has positive influence on children's cognitive capabilities,aesthetic judgment,body-building and other non-intelligence aspects. Constructive Play materials are the materialistic foundation of Constructive Play. How to provide and use them will influence the qaulity of this Play. But it is confused for teachers to provide materials and instruct children during the play. For offering teachers some advices about those problems , this study tries to formulate a evaluation program of providing and usimg of Constructive Play materials.This program is based on "The equipment norms of pre-school educational institutions in Shanghai (Trial)"and relevant reaserches of domestic and abroad. It is made from two demensions -equipment and use, included six factors: quantity and variety, qaulity and security, spatial arrangement, using time, staff-child interactions and interactions among children. Every factor is divided into three levels. The first level is disqualification, the second level is qualified, and the third is good. Different level has different specific standards.For making the program more appropriate, it is used to evaluate five classes of three kindergartens with action research method, and revised based on the evaluation practices.With the research process of formulating and improving the evaluation program, the further reflect is made which focused on this program's role in kindergartens' constructive play:(1) Based on this evaluation program, it provided a path for the standardization of materials equipment and guaranteed the materials for the construvtive play through self-assessment or assessment by others.(2) Provided references for teachers to guide the constructive play.At the same time,it reflected the contents of constructive materials in "The equipment norms of pre-school educational institutions in Shanghai (Trial)": (1) The type and the number of constructive materials in "Norms" had low feasibility in pratice;(2) The definition of the contents in the "Norms" was not so clear which made it hard to operate;(3)The "Norms" didn't include all the aspects of constructive materials.At last,it provides some suggestions for improving the program:(1) Increase in the evaluation of management;(2) Strengthen the evaluation on teacher's understanding and use of materials;(3) Need more specific research datas to support the program.
