At the present,the education reform and development have become an important strategy for the countries in the world to respond to the increasingly fierce and international competition.Shanghai is reforming the education continuously while it is improving its actual strength.It has been many years since the Second Curriculum Reform in Shanghai,during the time,the world does not slow down the pace of reform. In order to further improve the high school biology curriculum standards in Shanghai, in addition to a foothold in Shanghai and,more importantly,we have to develop the international perspective,understanding the current international standard biology curriculum reform and development of each other through a comparative study.Singapore as one of Asia"Four Little Dragons",and its rapid economic development and the development of education in all high-profile concern.The complexity of the historical background and socio-cultural diversity of Singapore create its distinctive curriculum system.Using the high school biology curriculum standards of Singapore as the object of comparative study can help us to understand the developed education of biology curriculum in other parts of Asia,drawing on its merits,looking for the new ideas and new directions for the amendments to the curriculum standards in Shanghai.On the other hand,it can reflect the features and advantages of biology curriculum of basic education in Shanghai.In the study,high school biology curriculum standards of Shanghai and Singapore were used,using the method of text research,documentation and statistics,combined with the method of survey to support the findings and observations.On the base of introducing Singapore's social and cultural background,education system,as well as the biological courses systems of the two,partly compare and study from these aspects:the framework of curriculum standards,design ideas,the core educational grading targets,the core content as well as the evaluation.The results show that Shanghai's high school biology curriculum standards has the following main characteristics:the overall framework of the system is reasonable and complete;the concept of advanced courses is basic to the international standards,the overall goals and objectives of classification stage are clear,reasonable;the content of the design ideas and the main line are clear;the principles of curriculum evaluation is correct,the idea is complete.Shortcomings:the lack of concise statements of objectives;the expressions of learning content is not specific enough;the applying knowledge is less;the senior content do not have a strong convergence to the junior content and so on.In order to improve the biology curriculum standard in Shanghai,to provide the developing thinking and constructive ideas,affirm its merits,at the same time,refer to the merits of the curriculum standards of Singapore,pose some reference proposal such as:simplify and formulate the state approach of the goals;increase properly the application knowledge;enhance the convergence of senior and junior content;appropriately increase the breadth of course content;make the presentation of the course content detailed;improve the focalization and the maneuverability of biology curriculum evaluation;increase the method of the learning strategies as well as the teaching approaches of investigate.
