Self-presentation In QQ Space

This study uses the qualitative research, in order to understand the process of people's self-presentation in QQ space , as "role play" as the center to analyze, examining social roles and roles' characteristics what people play in cyber space, role-playing types and strategies, and the modes of interaction between people and their visitors; at the same time, trying to tap the new era of the traditional "self-presentation" theory in the network. The study founds:First of all, the characteristics of QQ space, (1) QQ space as a front virtual performance, and the product, which is instituted by "the abstract, and unchanged expectations," is still on people's role-playing bound ; (2) the process about QQ space from a sharing self-experience technological media to a presentation self-image stage , is also a process which people copy others' dailies and pictures in space, then express personal feelings, share experiences, and record daily life, present self roles, final seek self -recognition, in the process, the interaction between actors and visitors plays a key role.Secondly, the process of self-presentation in QQ space, (1) people present the basic social roles which is related with the growth of their experience, and there mainly are the role of family relations, the role of work relations and the role of interpersonal relationships of social interaction, and the present roles' features are required in line with social norms, and positive; (2) the role type of people play, space, with the primary and secondary types, are sharing of experience, self-reflection, a sign of weakness to seek help, capacity displaying; (3) the strategies about people play roles are with audience in isolation, selective self-presentation and presenting true self and so on.Then, the interaction between actors and visitors in QQ space , (1) the relationship mostly is real-life friends' relationship, the strangers' relationship is less; ( 2) the interaction ways between actors and visitors, mostly are explain, thanks to share, encourage, bless, recommended, in accordance with different types of role-playing, interactive way is different. Finally, people's self-presentation in QQ space has enhanced the interaction, mutual understanding and feelings between people and their friends, and interpersonal relationships have been further stability, the purpose of the role recognition can is also achieved.
