Trust is a hot topic in sociology, it is people's belief of the reliability of the others and social system, which is used to face the risk in future.Relative to the rich fruits of sociological research, the study of trust in teaching seems to have been overlooked for the following two reasons: First, before the new curriculum reform, the authority of teachers and textbook knowledge are believed in, so that trust has become a matter of course, even that trust is no longer necessary. This makes the classroom boring and lack of vitality,as one-man show of the teacher.Second, with the progress of new curriculum reform, the dominant position of students has been demonstrated, and even there has been"the student center tendency with no purpose", trusting the potential of students without foundation, leading to the other extreme named"song and dance",in which, students are starred, while the teacher play a small role. They are not the ideal patterns of trust in teaching, which are prone to cover the teaching value of trust, and even lead to inefficient or ineffective teaching. However, which kind of trust can highlight its teaching value? How to realize it? With such doubts, this study explored the following four questions: 1.the meaning of trust in teaching. 2.The teaching value of trust. 3.Conditions of trust in teaching.4.The strategies to improve the quality of teaching trust. The trust in teaching is people's confidence of the credibility in the various elements of teaching system, expressed as a rational risk-taking in the teaching activities. If it doesn't lead to misunderstanding, we can call it"teaching trust"for short. It can be characterized by relational, well-intentioned, endogenous, and anisomerous. The trust between the teaching subject is known as interpersonal trust, while the trust between teaching subject and teaching resource is called system trust. The above two constitute an integrated teaching trust. They promote each other and reflect their teaching value. Teaching trust can not only develop the relationship between teachers and students, but also expand teaching resources, reform teaching methods, create comprehensive and real teaching culture, and embody a form of relational teaching. However, trust is a double-edged sword, when the trust evolved into "blind ", it will be necessary to adjusted by rational and institutionalized distrust. Therefore, distrust and trust is not negative, but that complement each other in teaching. In teaching, we should be moderate trustful. It relies on the reliability of teaching subject and resources. The reliability of teaching subject contains trustful personality, high moral quality, a high level of knowledge and good positive relationship between them. The reliability of teaching resources includes certifiable teaching content, inclusive culture, dependable management system, as well as the reassuring environment. These factors promote trust in two ways: First, make the expectation meet; second, reduce the possibility of utilizing the vulnerability of trust.Their importance depends on the objects and what they relies on.For example, honesty and close relation will be more important in emotional relationship, while knowledge and ability will be more essential in completing a mission.I propose four strategies to improve the quality of teaching trust: proactive strategy, relational strategy, promise-fulfilled strategy, and cultural-created strategy. Proactive strategy means that teachers should trust students first because teachers take charge of responsibility which students needn't take on, through the"firm attitude of trust- effectively communicate - wittily tolerate"to implement. Relational strategy is used to awaken the real feelings, increase teacher-student dialogue and enhance their trust. It can be put in practice through"care by dialogue- reflect- dialogue for care". Promise-fulfilled strategy means that the teaching subject use teaching resources to realize their commitment to prove their creditability. It can be actualized through"set expectations - make a commitment– fulfill promise– evaluate credit".Cultural-created strategy means creating a culture of trust to improve the quality of teaching trust. We can bring it into effect through"unify teaching value - set transparent, steady and reliable rules and regulations - discuss trust opening".In fact, we are also creating a teaching based on trust, while improving the quality of teaching trust.
