In recent years, network games as a new emerging thing, took great profit, but brought out series of society problems, and were focused, argued and questioned. Under the situation above mentioned, the people put forward a concept to bring digital games into education. So combining network games and teaching, educational game software could be designed in view of comforting teachers, parents and students. Through the methods of information, the education thoughts called learning through playing would be realized, and learning would be happy for students. The new period of studying educational games is coming.With the flourishing development of educational games'research and under guidance of new curriculums reform, the present status and countermeasure analysis for chemical education game was chosen as the subject, which brought educational games into chemistry. By the analysis of characteristics and elements for educational games, the current chemical education games composed of the knowledge and skills of chemistry were evaluated whether was consistence with the criteria of educational games or not, whether was the effective way to cultivate science literacy of students, motivate the interests of studying chemistry, be helpful for acquire the knowledge, skills and methods of chemistry, improve the scientific inquiry abilities and lifelong and autonomous learning concepts. Additionally, the work will supply the meaningful research theories and practical basis for following chemical education games'development.In the beginning, the paper was the introduction of educational games and their theories, clarified educational games'definition, function and practical significance, demonstrated its elements and characteristics and then assured the application modes and the evaluation criteria of educational games.And then, the work in this paper included the analysis of present status for chemical education games, the briefing for the meaning of chemical curriculums combined with games, the educational games and websites in and abroad, and the evaluation criteria of educational games, and the case analysis of twelve games chosen from the educational games in and abroad.At last, the paper illustrated the problems of current educational games and presented the measures to resolve. Under the guidance of related theories, the work of this paper involved the self-designed the educational game called Golden Miner and picture puzzle game of element periodic table.
