In the 21st century, the information revolution which was taken with by information technology especially computer technology has made a variety of media interpenetrative and intertwined, formed a multicultural and multi-level information network, and infiltrated on all aspects of people's lives. Media in public life is becoming more and more important, at the same time, people treated the operation mechanism of media, discrimination and interpretation of media information, even thecapacity of self-creation------cultivation of media literacy constant attention. Foreigncitizens, especially young people media literacy education theory and practice of research is relatively sophisticated, while the domestic media literacy research is still at the theoretical level, and the explore to the practical aspects of education is also extremely poor, aiming at the normal university students media literacy research is still on the early exploratory stage.First of all, on the base of analysis and introduction to the origin and concept of media literacy as well as the development of the media literacy on abroad, this paper reviews current media literacy education theory and practice of research in china to lay a solid foundation for the study.Secondly, to deeply understand the media literacy status of domestic normal university students, a questionnaire survey was conducted in part of students in domestic representative normal university. Furthermore, this part statistics and preliminary analyzes the survey results from four aspects of the cognition and understanding of media, the motivation and purpose of access to media, the ability of use and manufacture of media, the media analysis and self-discipline ability of domestic Normal University students. According to the analysis, this paper points out the media literacy status quo and the reasons of the deletion of domestic Normal University students.Thirdly, based on the above analysis, this paper tries to propose corresponding promotion strategies of normal university students media literacy from learners, schools, society dimensions of the media literacy: establishing the main body awareness and self-education of media literacy, establishing professional research and community organizations for media literacy, building media literacy education curriculum system; increasing efforts of government to regulate and protect media literacy education, deepening the sense of responsibility and guide of the mass media communication, creating a whole society atmosphere of media literacy education.Finally, the end of the paper summarizes the findings of this study and the inadequacy of research and follow-up study, with expectations for the next phase of the Normal University students' media literacy education to provide some depth experiences and lessons.
