Media is the carrier of information transmission.With the development of information technology and the rise of network society,new form of media has accelerated the speed of information transmission,expanded the breadth of information transmission,and profoundly changed the production and life style of users.Corresponding to this,how to enjoy the convenience brought by the new media at the same time and effectively avoid the potential negative effects,is increasingly become the urgent problem needed to be answered in the field of media literacy education.As a kind of comprehensive capacity,the objective of media literacy is through learning and practice to help users to develop and boost the ability to use media contact,analysis,judgment,creation and so on,which contributes to better serve the communication of people’s lives.Good overall citizens’ quality of media is of great practical significance for improving national cultural literacy and promoting social progress through comprehensive soft power.This study① select the university in Xi’an province that is a western provincial capital city as a key object of study,the other 15 different types of regional universities in the central and eastern of China as a reference object.The study methods mainly include questionnaire investigation,literature analysis,and comparative research,which is beneficial to investigate the media literacy of students,and to analyzes the main problems of media literacy in Xi’an G university.The conclusions are as follows:(1)Although students have strong abilities of media access,some problems still exist,such as a long time of media use,excessive dependence on media,and excessive recreational use of media.(2)The ability of media analysis is weak,representing in the ambiguity of online target and the insufficient ability of media information filter.(3)The ability of media evaluation is expected to be improved.Virtually,due to insufficient understanding of the process of information production and limited attention to information sources,there are obvious deviations in judging the authenticity and authority of information;(4)There is a strong sense of participation in media creation and various forms of participation,but there is still a certain gap in the overall ability compared with that of the reference department.With the help of random forest model data this study analyzes the related factors influencing the students’ media literacy in Xi’an G university in order to provide and establish a supervision mechanism,regulate the use of standard media,increase the media courses and lectures,simulate the process of media production,improve the discrimination of media,found a media community to develop social linkage and media literacy promotion strategy. |
