Serving as a vital component of art education, extramural art education provides the students with a chance to improve the aesthetic accomplishment further, thus contributes a lot to training of the students with art specialty and elites as well. The new round of curriculum reform urges the concept of quality education to be widely accepted. To exert the multiple function of the art education, the traditional curriculum notion that used to focus merely on skill training should be adjusted and equal stress should be laid on the cultivation of emotions and values. The extramural art education for children is taken as the research object due to its representative . This paper analyzes the problems existing in curriculum arrangement, probes into the feasibility of curriculum reform plan, and exploits the advantage of extramural art education for children.Chapter one defines the basic concept mentioned in this paper.Chapter two elaborates the present situation of extramural art education in Chengdu and points out the problems by analyzing data and statistics.Chapter three, being the main part of the paper, puts forward the curriculum arrangement plan as regards the following aspects: curriculum goal, curriculum content, curriculum organization, curriculum evaluation. Chapter four gives suggestions regarding the application of the curriculum in Chengdu.
