Olympic Games and tourism are interacted with each other. The former is a gorgeous development propeller of the latter, and the latter is the wings to promote the economy of the former. The intrinsic attraction of Olympic Games and their characteristics invite large numbers of tourists to the host city, bringing about various tour activities as an inevitable side-product. Since the 1980s, Olympic Games Organization Committee set it a goal to attract more tourists to the host city. Analysis of impact factors of tourism shows that Olympic Games have a potential function of accelerating the development of tourism for host cities. However, potential does not mean reality. As it is, how this favorable function will bring into play depends on many other things which affect the Olympic tourism. The 2008 Beijing Olympic Games is to bring about historical opportunity to China's tourism. This does not, however, mean success automatically, though China's tourism industry estimates that the expected benefits are enormous. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct an in-depth research, be it theoretical and empirical, of such particular tourism types as Olympic tourism, before the advent of the Games.The paper analyze the effects that 2008 Beijing Olympic Games to Beijing tourism by means of literature,case analyzing and logic deducting, describing,evaluating the market environment of Beijing tourism, then putting forward measures of development, drawing the following conclusion:2008 Beijing Olympic Games will effect upon Beijing tourism. Firstly the most directly effect is enhancement of the international tourists, while the most lasting effect is improvement of Beijing international reputation and tourism visualization, at the same time 2008 Beijing Olympic Games will improve environment of Beijing tourism, enhance the Beijing new attracters of tourism, also enhance routes and abilities that information spread. Consideration will also be given to negative effects made during the international event. Such as the enhancement of tourists will destroy Beijing tourism resources in a limited way, especially no regeneration tourism resources, but, if we take available measures, these negative effects will be avoided or reduce in the least degree.Olympic Games only provide a opportunity that occuring only once in a thousand years to Beijing tourism, but not means 2008 Olympic tourism must succeed. Tourism industry is a frangible industry, influenced from many factors, such as economic depression,earthquake,SARS,terrorism, etc.So our hope will come true only by taking available measures under the positive within and exterior environment. In order to succeed in 2008 Olympic tourism, we should take positive measures, such as integrating tourism products, upgrading tourism visualization, sales promotion, keeping and strengthening after event, etc. even though those measures is not ensure the success of Olympic tourism, it is indispensable to a successful Olympic Games.
