In recent years, non-governmental higher education of Jiangxi province has been an important part of higher education. At the same time, the problem that the teacher of non-governmental universities can't adapt to the needs of the non-governmental colleges occurs which affects and lays great restraints on the development quality of higher education. Therefore, to study the problems of the non-governmental teachers, especially the professional development problems of them, is of great significance to the long-term development of higher education.This paper takes six non-governmental colleges of Jiangxi province as the research cases, makes a deep research in the conditions of the teachers and the teachers' professional development of the colleges, from which the writer sums up the following problems: for the faculty, the structure is unreasonable and the career moral level is not high; for the individual, the teachers are lack of the professional knowledge and abilities, deficient in the education theory and idea, not active in the teacher's professional self-development. Based on the teacher's professional development theory, the writer analyzes the problems and finds out the problems are caused by three reasons: Firstly, the authorities' governance; Secondly, the non-governmental college's management; Lastly, the teacher's self-development consciousness is not high. According to this , the writer proposes some measures and suggestions to promote the teacher's professional development of non-governmental colleges in Jiangxi province. At first, the government should provide a strong external environment; Then, the non-governmental college should perfect the management of teachers and strengthen the teacher's on-the-job training; Lastly, the teachers of non-governmental colleges should enhance the teacher's professional development self-consciousness.
