Writing is always a complex and important part in English learning. English Writing in senior high schools is of great importance as well as the most difficulty for the students. As one of the effective ways to improve EFL learners'writing ability is to make good use of feedback in writing, the use of the feedback should be attached importance to. Based on the principles of feedback and the requirements in English writing, this thesis tries to explore the attitudes, opinions, practices and expectations between students and teachers, some pedagogical suggestions as well.This paper randomly chooses 290 students (200 from the regular classes and 90 from the experimental classes) and 20 teachers from Cangnan Jinxiang High School, Zhejiang as the object of study. Focusing on the questionnaires and interview, this thesis aims to answer the following questions: (1) What's present situation of the English writing in high school? (2) If there exist any discrepancies of the attitudes, opinions and expectations in written feedback between students and teachers? (3) Are there any differences in the feedback practice between the students and teachers? (4) Are there any differences in English writing feedback between different students? (5) What kinds of feedback do the students and teachers like and expect respectively?Based on the results of the questionnaires and the interviews, this paper draws the following conclusion: (1) The feedback in English writing has a great impact on English writing teaching (2) There exist discrepancies in attitudes, opinions, practice and expectations towards the feedback between the students and teachers. (3) Different students treat the feedback in English writing differently.According to the analysis of the investigation and discussion, this paper presents some corresponding solutions and puts forward some suggestions to English writing as well as the students and teachers. Both the students and teachers should focus great attention on the written feedback. As for the teachers, they can adopt different feedback strategies and deal with the writings differently according to different students. In addition, forming the students'habits to revise and rewrite and returning the students'writings promptly are also good ways to enhance their writing ability.
