A Study On The Operational Mechanism Of College Student Work Of Volunteers' From Sociological Perspective

From the standpoint of educational sociology taking the volunteer activities of an university as the reference, the paper discusses the volunteer work of Chinese college students and its operational mechanism in the transitional society.It is well known that Chinese young volunteer work is a social activity based on the experience of overseas young volunteer activities and combining Chinese market economy. Since coming into being in China volunteer work has made many progresses and received the social praise, at the same time a lot of problems appear. During the new time, how to make the young volunteer work train, influence, educate volunteers, and also serve the public has become a rewarding and valuable subject. Achieving this aim need the reform of social management system but also the exploration and improvement on the operational mechanism. Taking the operational mechanism of Chinese college students'volunteer work as the investigated subject this paper has worked up the data on volunteer work by means of collecting and studying the related documents.By analyzing the present situation of the operational mechanism of volunteer work the paper points out the problems on the operational mechanism and proposes the countermeasure and suggestions how to optimize the volunteer work of college students.Part one is the analysis of significance of this theme, survey of domestic and international research and then raises the writing format. In recent years, society pays more and more attention on the volunteer of college students, researches about this issue gets more and more detailed. But most of these researches are just summary and description of experience, which lack of academic background and rather superficial. The emphasis of this paper is trying to present an overall discussion about the ways of bettering the operational mechanism of college student volunteers and to put forward new research point and writing method.Part two is the analysis of the present operational mechanism of the college student volunteers. According to the questionnaires and interviews completed by the tutors and students of Chang Chun Industrial College, together with the analysis of the features of college student volunteers' works, this paper offer a deep analysis on the operational mechanism and development of college student volunteers, analyze the present situation of operational mechanism of college student volunteers and also put forward the problems exist. On the aspect of running and development of volunteers' organization, this thesis discusses the five steps in the process of changing towards standard construction since 1993. On the aspect of present situation analysis and volunteer operational mechanism, volunteer organization's running features, field, basic function and operational mechanism were discussed.Part three is the analysis of the problem and causes of the college student volunteer operational mechanism. It is discussed through four aspects---organization concept, concept of public, lack of financial support and problems in the program design. In China, there are many restrict factors in the field of volunteer work, the key one is the participation and identity of society, which is the common problem needed to be handle by the volunteer work all around the world including our country. The financial shortage and improper management of financial source is the main problem of the volunteer work of China. Meanwhile, the bettering of volunteer management mechanism is the necessary condition for the widespread development of volunteer work. Bettering the training and evaluation mechanism of volunteer organization, inspire the constrain mechanism, keep mechanism of identity is the main problems needed to be handled now by the Chinese volunteer organization and the necessary choice for enforcement of the organize ability construction. In the volunteer activities in China, most of them are for those important events organized by the government, but neglect the other programs and fields that need those volunteer works urgently. This narrows the field of volunteer service for those who need it. In the aspect of program design, the design of program of volunteer works has not been institutionalized and pluralized, remains immature and not innovative.Part four, research about bettering volunteer operational mechanism. According to analyzes and statements above, the working situation and problems exist has been presented clearly. On t he basis of it, the specific ways of bettering were put forward from two aspects---the socialization of volunteer operational mechanism and bettering the operational mechanism of college student volunteers.According to the case study and interviews on the Chang Chun Industrial College and the evaluation and analyze of the present situation of college student volunteer, the effective way of reinforce the construction of volunteer organize mechanism. Meanwhile, talk with the relevant persons and theoretical research helps to enrich the paper. To build an effective organize system of college students and make it adapt to the practice of China, In order to ensure the well development of organize system, the better environment, construction of volunteer organization, guarantee the plan and organize ability of volunteer organization. At the same time, the relationship between volunteer organization and government needed to be established. Along with the establishment and mature of operational mechanism of volunteers' activities, more and more activities will be carried on under more authentic support. Under the concern of the whole society, more achievements in college volunteer activities will be got.
