College Volunteers Participate In Mechanism Research

In recent years the volunteer services have been rapidly developing in China, and have especially stood out and played important roles in series of large-scale social events. The recognition and comprehension of volunteers have been greatly arisen, and the spirit and realization of volunteer services have been widely spread ascribed to the successes of those international events. However, difficulties and problems are still around when volunteers attempt to carry out volunteer services due to the lagging of development and incompletions of related devices and regulations.Volunteers from colleges and universities are currently the main component and force for social voluntary events. Therefore the understanding and analysis of their present status and problems are crucial and essential to better establish a long-term effective mechanism of how college volunteers are going to take part in large-scale social events. This thesis regards a group of volunteers that served in the EXPO2011XI’AN as respondents to analyze the motivation that college students volunteer in social events and the problems they are facing based on interview records and questionnaire results. And to make correspondent solutions and suggestions from three aspects:managers, government and volunteers themselves.This thesis innovatively suggests the combination of philosophy and values of social work and volunteer services from the aspect of social work, and the exertion of techniques of social work to help solve the problems that volunteers met in volunteer services. Moreover, since the author has personally experienced as a volunteer, this thesis would have some deeper investigation and study of volunteer group from her, a volunteer’s, own aspect.The purpose of this article is to help maintain and strengthen the continuous volunteer services of college volunteers, in order to provide theoretical foundation and practical suggestions for the management of volunteers of future large-scale social voluntary events, and to propose strategies for the establishment of long-term mechanism of volunteer activities.
