Research On Continuous Socialization Of The Elderly As Volunteer

The rapid development of old-man volunteer service is result from the fact that China is becoming an aging society. Encouraging and supporting the elderly to participate in social public activities, such as volunteer service, is helpful to the active aging and the utility maximizing and also helpful to the rational distribution of the social resources. With an example of XH district, bibliography is employed to clear up the background and the significance of the research, with the aid of other types of research method, e.g. questionnaire, interview to collect datum. On the basis of specific description of old-man voluntary service, this thesis analyzes the social function that volunteers for senior citizen acts on the elderly, such as social adaption, communal participation and society association. The analysis shows that, through participating in volunteer service, the seniors can avoid the social maladjustment because of retirement. At last, exploring what policies and management mechanisms should be established to improve the old-man volunteer service system and help seniors to realize continuous socialization smoothly.
