Through the creation of a supportive and collaborative learning environment, professional learning communities can bring all professional educators together to conduct professional learning and practice sharing in an ongoing and challenging way under shared values and vision, in order to make changes in the classroom, promote student learning and finally help schools achieve development and reform. On the basis of understanding the researches that international academic community has done on professional learning communities, this thesis attempts to analyze the feasibility study and summary of past experience conducted by the British EPLC project(the project of"creating and maintaining an effective professional learning community") on professional learning community models. With the current situation of the professional learning communities of teachers in China taken into consideration, the thesis has provided a feasible strategy and method for the construction of professional learning communities in China from such aspects as the perfection of leadership, the development of interpersonal and social resources and the enhancement of the communication and cooperation with the outside world.
