Teacher's mental health education ability is a very important component in teacher's ability structure. Currently, researches of teachers'mental health education ability usually focuse on their cultivation, they are mainly descriptive qualitative studies, which are lacks of empirical verification, has few things with the developing level and characteristics about teachers'mental health education ability in primary and middle school. Therefore, exploring the structure and developing characteristics of teachers'mental health education ability and the relationships between teachers' mental health education ability and teachers'job performance plays an important role in enriching mental health educational research and teachers'psychological research,it can also promote the implement of mental health education in primary and middle school.This study follows"analyzing theory-developing tool-test and statistics-displaying relationship-proving hypotheses", defines the connotation of application of teachers'mental health education ability by methods of literature research,questionnaire investigation and factor analysis,expores the structure of teachers'mental health education ability by exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses.And develops'Teachers'mental health education ability appraisal scale in primary and middle school",analyses the developmental characteristics of teachers'mental health education ability in primary and middle school at present,examines the relationships between teachers'mental health education ability and teachers' job performance.We can draw the following conclusions from this study:1. Teachers'mental health education ability comprises the consciousness of the psychological problems,the knowledge of the psychological education and the skills of the psychological education,on this basis forms "Teachers'mental health education ability appraisal scale in primary and middle school",which have good reliability and validity.2. Teachers'mental health education ability in China remains is in a high level.And, the consciousness of the psychological problems is best developed, while it's adverse on the skills of the psychological education.3.There are no significant differences of teachers'mental health education ability in sex.There are significant differences of teachers'mental health education ability in the range of stages,subjects,length of teaching,professional title,academic credential. Specifically:(1)In the range of stages, Junior high school teachers'mental health education ability is in the highest level, secondly is primary school teachers',and finally, high school teachers'.(2)In subjects,art and physical education teachers's mental health education ability is in the highest level, secondly is liberal art teacher,and finally, science teacher.(3)In length of teaching, the longer the length of teaching is,the higher level of teachers'mental health education ability is.but,in the skills of the psychological education, the sort is 16-20years> more than 21 years>11-15years>6-10years>1-5years;in the consciousness of the psychological problems, the sort is 16-20years> 11-15years> more than 21 years> 6-10years> 1-5years.(4) In professional title, the higher the teacher's professional title is,the higher level of teachers' mental health education ability is. In the consciousness of the psychological problems, senior professional title is in the highest level, secondly is the primary profession title,then, the middle-rank professional title,and finally,no title.(5)In academic credential, teachers'mental health education ability in different academic credentials to sort is "Bachelor degree> College degree> Bachelor degree or above".4. There is significant positive correlation between teacher's mental health education ability and teachers'job performance in primary and middle school.The higher teacher's mental health education ability is,the higher teachers'job performance is.In addition, teacher's mental health education ability has a positive effect for teachers'job performance.
