With the social development and the deepening of education reform in the 21st century, the social competition is becoming more intense, which puts forward higher and more comprehensive requests to the quality of talents, especially the psychological quality. Schools can not promote the students' physical and mental quality without paying attention to their mental health education, mental health education is the proper meaning of school education. The America, after 100 years'development of mental health, has formed a set of quite mature system, which is accepted by the government and the society. Mental health education is an educational activity which is professional. It aims at improving the students'mental health. It is not only a method or a kind of technology, but also a scientific education concept. The popularization of mental health education is helpful for the development of teaching concepts and ideas. With the dept development of mental health education, the requirements for the mental health teachers' quality and professionalization are becoming higher and higher. To develop the mental health education, promote the teaching level and advance the smooth development to the scientific and standardized direction, it needs to pay more attention to the training of the school psychologists, establishing a team of educators who possess high theoretical attainment, professional skills and practical ability. Because of the superiority of America's teacher training, this thesis gives an analysis and discussion to the teacher training of America.Comparative, documentation and analysis methods are used in this thesis, to understand the situation research problems as a basis, which makes a comparison of the school psychologists training methods from America and China in order to find the advantages of school psychologists of America. For the lack of the school psychologists training, we can learn something selectively to achieve the professional development of China's school psychologists. This thesis consists of four parts.The first part of thesis is the preface, including the giving of questions, the definition of some related conceptions, literature review and research ideas and methods.The second part of thesis elaborated the training of mental health teachers in America. The mental health education in America dates back to the 19th century. In America, it first gives the idea that mental health education serve for the education, and then it appeals more psychologists who devote themselves to the mental health education. School psychologist which is a special group, as an important part of America's school education system, have been accepted by the education department and the whole society. The US government trains the school psychologists by having researches on them in the following aspects, professional characteristics, the concept of positioning,teachers constitution, basic quality, role duties, qualification requirements, professional standards and setting of curriculum. Besides, the government affords system guarantee to them to get an effective supervision.The third part of thesis introduced and analyzed the situation of China's school psychologists' training. In this part, it gives a detailed introduction of those aspects mentioned in part two.The fourth part of thesis is the self-examination and enlightenment. Firstly, it analyzed the differences of the teacher training between America and China. Secondly, it gives suggestions on China's teacher training, according to the problems appeared in China and the good experience of America.
