It is well known that reading plays a very important part in senior high school. Task-based Language Teaching(TBLT) is based on the practice of foreign language teaching for many years.Meanwhile, it is strongly advocated in the English curriculum for SeniorHigh School. It is not only a thought of teaching, an approach to teaching,but a specific model and method of teaching.Particularly in recent years, many experts have probed the feasibility and efficiency of applying TBLT to English teaching of reading, which provides a theoretical and practical enlightenment for English teaching of reading.However, under the circumstance that China considers English as a foreign language,many factors restrict the implementation of TBLT, such as the conflict between traditional culture and TBLT based on constructivism, the gap between the urban and the suburb, the difference of teachers ,the diversity of students, the imperfection of evaluating system and so on, so teachers meet lots of difficulties and make many long-standing ideas.Therefore, it is very necessary to probe TBLT"made in China".This thesis is based on the theroy of TBLT and the achievement of Task-based English Teaching of Reading. The author takes Task-based English Teaching of Reading for example,as a breakthrough. Through research, including going into classes, making surveys, interviewing and analysing teaching cases, the author states and discusses the current situation and existing problems of Task-based English Teaching of Reading, emphasising the main problems.In the following chapters, the author introspects and discusses them from the aspects of teachers, students, evaluating systems ,etc. and come up with feasible advice.The author hopes to build an effective Task-based English Teaching of Reading and probe an approach toTask-based Language Teaching suitable for China in order to make teachers put it well into practice.
