| Reading autonomy is an autonomous self-learning process. Self-learning is the main learning objectives in the learning, the learning process, learning effectiveness and results to scientific and reasonable to carry out self-planning, self-management, self-regulating, self-detection, self-evaluation and self-feedback and eventually made some progress in the study. The volume of reading requests and self-initiated learning in Standard English courses for secondary school graduates note the necessity and urgency of establishing self-teaching mode of reading ability. In this paper, we choose "Twenty-first Century English Newspaper" as a reading curriculum resource to do the experimental study. First of all, we reviewed the theory and development of reading and self-study at home and abroad. Then, we explain the concept of "self-reading". After that, we analyzed the subjects of learning psychology to prove that the junior students have an important period of developing self-study. Then, we conduct a survey about the status quo of students' reading ability. Through analysis of survey results, we collect specific information and provide an effective basis for the experimental study. We divide the experiments into the classroom and outside the classroom. Teachers use their mode of teaching to teach students. After class, students develop their own personalized reading programs. We also guide students to conduct their own self-evaluation of reading. After the experiment, we analysize the experimental data by software such as EXCEL, which prove that self-reading help to improve the reading ability of students. Finally, we evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the experiment for further studies. |
