Case teaching is a kind of method through a specific description of the biological situation, guide students in discussion and analysis of these situations, draw conclusions, form their own opinion, increase knowledge and ability. The case teaching combined learning content to modern technology and the students reality of life, help students choose the appropriate information, take the initiative to gather information and the collection, processing and information-handling capacity, focus on students' innovative spirit and practical ability ,for students to meet the needs of social life to make the necessary preparations. Therefore,It is necessary to study case teaching.The research summarize the study of case teaching at home and abroad to conduct research and development by literature search method, analysis the theoretical basis of case teaching, clarify the difference between the characteristics of case teaching and traditional teaching methods, contact with new course concept,explore the meaning and role of case teaching in the junior high school biology teaching. explore the principles of case selection and preparation methods, the main links of case teaching and classroom teaching mode, accumulation of junior high school biology teaching cases, Using questionnaire survey and interviews method, study students learning needs, the need for the implementation of case teaching , the effect in emotional attitude of non-intellectual factors and studying the impact of values. based on the Jiangsu Science and Technology Publishing edition junior secondary Biology Textbook, as our students the research object, Using quasi-experimental method to study the impact of case teaching on student's academic performance.Studies have shown: Case teaching can improve student interest in learning, help students better understand and master the knowledge, improve student achievement; conducive to cultivating the student's problem awareness, the spirit of cooperation and communication skills; develop students ability of innovation and inquiry ,improve the scientific literacy and so on.Finally, based on the practice, the research put forward the advice to implementation the case teaching:we should be combined in students specific circumstances;we should be established evaluation system supporting case teaching;teachers should update the concept, to enhance learning; we should strengthen communication among teachers of business, establish case-resource library, etc. give help for the majority biology teachers use case teaching.
