In the process of Curriculum Reform of Basic Education, it is emphasized that the ability of scientific exploration should be cultivated, and examination system should be reformed. But now, the assessment of scientific exploration ability is mainly dominated by the traditional paper and pencil test in all of primary and secondary school examinations. It is important to make acquainted with complexion of paper and pencil test of scientific exploration ability for exploring the effective strategies and further improving assessment of scientific exploration ability. The thesis takes the physical examination papers of senior high school entrance examination since the curriculum reform beginning for example, and studies the characteristics of elements of scientific exploration, science contents, item types, material sources, scores and proportion which are involved with the physical items of scientific exploration in the senior high school entrance examination.The thesis includes the following three studies:Study one, frameworks are established that how to analyze the physical items of scientific exploration in the senior high school entrance examination. On the basis of analyzing "The Physics Curriculum Criterion for Compulsory Education Junior High School" and other relevant documents, the physical items of scientific exploration in the senior high school entrance examination are analyzed in the five aspects:elements of scientific exploration, science content, item types, material sources, scores and proportion; and the method of analyze associated with examples are given. Study two, analysis and statistic of physical items of scientific exploration in the senior high school entrance examination. On the basis of study one, a total of 274 sets of the physical papers are selected, from which 1148 test questions of examining scientific exploration ability of students are found; and all of the test questions are analyzed and counted.Study three, the study of relativity that the characteristics of physical items of scientific exploration in the senior high school entrance examination and relative articles presented in the "Curriculum Criterion". Firstly, some relative articles in the "Curriculum Criterion" are picked out;then, combining the conclusions of last study, the relativity is calculated and concluded.The main conclusions of this thesis are as follows:(1) In recent years,15% items in one physical paper of senior high school entrance examination has examined the ability of scientific exploration on average, and most of the papers have "exploration items". In one paper "exploration"is used 2.98 times on average. The evaluation of scientific exploration ability is being attached more and more importance after the beginning of curriculum reform.(2) In recent years, the physical items of scientific exploration in the senior high school entrance examination has involved all of the elements of scientific exploration, and most three ones of which are "analysis and demonstration", "planning and designing", "experimenting and collecting evidence", whose proportions are 55.75%, 51.66% and 41.18%.Most of items of scientific exploration involve only one element of scientific exploration. In the situation of examining every element of scientific exploration, all of the entries may be involved and some of them are emphases, for example, most of items of scientific exploration involved "analysis and demonstration" evaluate the ability of comparing and analyzing phenomenon and date of experience, reasoning and drawing conclusion.(3) Lots of items of scientific exploration are involved science contents of electro circuit, such as designing circuit diagrams, exploring the relation of current, voltage and resistance, using amperemeter and voltmeter accurately, etc. Also the contents of mechanics, mass, density and lens are involved. While, about 5% of the items are involved no concrete knowledge.(4) Most materials of scientific exploration items come from textbooks and courses, and the relatively novel materials, such as coming from technology frontier, are less. (5) The entries of science contents in the "curriculum criterion" involved by the items of scientific exploration in the senior high school entrance examination are mostly the entries that are related with "experience", and not with "exploring".
