Since the 1990s,a new learning theory and mode called"Work-Based Learning(WBL)"has witnessed rapid development worldwide. This kind of new concept has drawn many researchers'attentions, which gives our country opportunity to develop. The"Corporation Education"in USA,"Dual System"in Germany and "Sandwich Courses"in England are all main patterns of WBL. Recent years many researchers have done a lot on macroscopic view such as the talent training mode and school-running mode, being lack of doing researches on microcosmic view like WBL curriculum and development. In modern society vocational education swept like a rising wind and scudding clouds. It is hard to satisfy the whole needs of vocational reform and development only relying on school-based learning(WBL) curriculum. As we all know, WBL curriculum is a new developing trend which will lead the vocational education curriculum area, predicting a new curriculum tragedy. How to develop a WBL curriculum and how to use it in practice are questions to be discussed. This dissertation focuses on WBL curriculum and development and how to use it by analyzing the current condition of vocational education curriculum and summing up the successful experiences of developed countries. Four chapters are included as follows:Chapter One is the introduction. Firstly, it explicits the cause and background of the research. Secondly,it reviews and sums up relevant literatures and gives the value and thoughts of WBL curriculum development. Then it defines the core conceptions.Chapter Two focuses on the conception and current condition of work-based learning curriculum development. At the beginning,this chapter makes analysis of the core idea of WBL curriculum and its development. Then the characteristics of WBL curriculum,which differs WBL curriculum from WBL curriculum, and the main factor and procedure of WBL curriculum development are introduced. Finally, it analyzes the current condition and troubles of vocational education curriculum development.Chapter Three analyzes the experience and inspiration of WBL curriculum development in developed countries. It mainly summarizes the WBL curriculum development mode in England, USA and Germany etc, which gives reference and inspiration to China. The core concept is analyzing the successful experience and to find out how to develop a curriculum in practices.Chapter Four intends to work out a framework of work-based curriculum development with Chinese characteristics, including developing curriculum goals, contents, structure and evaluation. Then, this chapter chooses a typical curriculum program to analyze the problems we may face in practice.
