The new curriculum reform has achieved several stage results since it has been implemented throughout the country. During which time some implemental difficulties have also been unveiled. As an important text for curriculum reform, textbook is a bridge connecting the curriculum standard and teaching practice as well as a bond between curriculum designer and teachers and students.How to comprehensively reflect the designers'intention in the textbook and how to help teachers and students to organize and integrate the structure system of textbook are of great importance to the accomplishment of curriculum rationale and curriculum objectives.In addition, the State Education Commission is currently working on a plan to revise the New Curriculum textbooks and it requires substantial objective analysis of existing teaching materials.This thesis introduces the Interpretive Structure Model(ISM) which is initially applied to the study of Sociology. After reasonable amendment, it is suitable for the session of textbook analysis in physics teaching. This method, which is based on the experience of teachers and is presented in diagrams, can be used to organize the arranging system of textbook.It can greatly improve the result of teaching activity since it not only helps teacher to understand the arrangement of the textbook and to design the teaching route but also benefits the construction of students'knowledge system.In this thesis, the author first applies ISM in analyzing the knowledge structure arrangement of physics textbooks published by Shanghai Scientific &Technical Publishers. The general frame of the arrangement of knowledge factors in the textbook is constructed on the macro level and the arrangement of the knowledge factors in each chapter is analyzed on the micro level. Secondly, the advantages and disadvantages in the arrangement of this textbook are sorted out in the analysis which could be used as reference for the revision of the textbook. Thirdly, except of the basic analysis, this thesis also provides improvement plans for the design of lesson as well as the strategy for the design of students'self-learning plan by using the hierarchy digraph of the knowledge factors based on the analysis.The scientificity and the maneuverability of this method are verified by carring out contrast tests in practical teaching. Finally, the thesis gives a preliminary discussion about the application method and practical value of ISM in the comparison of textbooks.The author's research perspective and the suggestion are also provided.
