This paper makes a historical survey of the history teaching in middle school divorced from a technical historical category in a long time, which is based on the "20th Century Chinese Primary and Secondary School Curriculum and Syllabus Series"(history) and the new history curriculum standards a new round of history curriculum reform in the beginning of the 21st century. This paper finally investigates Chinese historical view and its development and evolution over the past century reflected from the changes.In the past century, the historical view reflected from Chinese middle school history curriculum standards and syllabus has gone through a process of evolution:a insistence to the traditional view of history whose core is "monarch History" after the establishment of Modern school education systems from the late Qing Dynasty, then, establishing the status of the evolutionary view of history guiding history teaching in middle school after the founding of the Republic of China, and further, establishing the guidance status of the historical materialism after the founding of New China and being gradually replaced by historical view of class struggle, and more, the guidance status of the historical materialism returning gradually after the Cultural Revolution, finally, Modern view of history, World view of history, Civilized view of history being all introduced and widely used gradually, forming a widely diverse history pattern. The historical view in different periods of history have different social background and academic development, and the historical view in different periods affects the history teaching in middle school and compilation of history curriculum standards and syllabus.Fostering students with right historical view is an important aim in the history education in middle school. On the one hand, this article clarifies historical view variance hidden in the curriculum standards and curricula. On the other hand, summarizes the characters of ideological content, contemporary spirit and fundamental position of curriculum standards and curricula, and explores the reasons why there are curriculum standards and curricula of an era during an era, and historical view of an era during an era. The history of class struggle and relations among various nationalities are becoming increasingly weakened and marginalized in curriculum reform in the new century, which were once the important contents in history teaching in middle school. This paper also resolves the problem that is how to think of the phenomenon rationally.In the new situation, in the face of multi-pattern forming in the history teaching reform in the middle school, we should develop students to form scientific view of history, which is characterized by wide vision and international perspective. Also, we should make students to treat the relations between historical materialism and New views of history correctly, such as, Modern view of history, World view of history, Civilized view of history, and so on.
