Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) is the most successful women's professional sports league which sets the new standards:Health, Energy and Teamwork. Public relations (PR) play a key role in which WNBA does well in the competitive environment of sports. By contrast, WCBA has been lukewarm since 2002. Studying on the PR communications of WNBA and the clubs could not only reveal its communication process, philosophy and activities, but also bring some valuable advices to Women's Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA).The PR in WNBA was analyzed through the method of literature searching, expert interviewing and case analyzing. The following conclusions were made:1, WNBA was injected with the advanced PR philosophy of NBA from the beginning, and defeated the competitor. When the operation mode was changed, WNBA is going on track with its mature procedure in PR.2, The inherent characteristics and the external environment of WNBA and the clubs makes they have certain PR philosophy:caring for women, encouraging teenagers, understanding players, following fans, serving media, returning investors and sponsors which make the WNBA invincible.3, PR activities in WNBA and clubs were done well by complete organization structure and their staffs. WNBA and clubs keep good relationship with their employees, investors, medias, community, consumers, sponsor, government and the oversea stakeholders. In addition, the crisis communication management and Twitter communication are the very important part in WNBA PR activities.4, PR activities in WCBA have some problems:The low level of communication philosophy; the rough of operation practice; the loss of the organizational structure. Although there are huge differences between WCBA and WNBA in the aim, structure and ownership of the organization, the studying on the PR communications of WNBA and the clubs could bring some valuable advices to WCBA:Establishing PR communication philosophy; regulating PR practices; completing public relation structure.
