| The supreme purpose of the secondary chemistry education is developing chemical science literacy, while chemical science concept is the core element of chemical science literacy. The middle school chemistry should help students to form chemical science concepts.In recent years, many experts and scholars have studied in the chemical concepts and achieved certain results, but many studies were made at the theoretical level, few studies were about the practical level,such as exploring the ways of students to form the chemical science concepts and investigating the formation of chemical science concepts. To understand the formation situation of current middle school students'chemical science concept is the priority and practical basis of helping them to form the chemical science concept, so we proposed the research subject.Chemical science concept is the overview and general recognition of the chemistry, which bases on the middle school students learning chemistry curriculum. its formation based on students' consciousness or habit consciously use the chemical knowledges, methods and ideas to deal with chemical problems. It reflects the level of students'chemical science literacy.Chemical science concepts have different levels. From the considered angles of most highlighting chemistry discipline characteristic and the high school chemistry scientific literacy, we determined the particle concept, chemical change concept, conservation concept, chemistry method concept and chemistry discipline value concept for the main investigation contents.In the guidance of related theories and on the basis of some times investigations and revisions, we preparated a questionnaire with good reliability and validity.The questionnaire is divided into two parts: the first part has 20 choice questions(altogether 20 points), examining the elements of the above-mentioned concepts,the second part has 4 short answer questions(altogether 16 points), testing the method concept, particle concept,change concept and conservation concept comprehensively. Through the questionnaire, individual interviews and classroom observation and other survey methods to deeply investigate the chemical science concepts' situation of the high school students of Yu Lin city in Guang Xi Autonomous region,particularly the grade three students of senior high school. We altogether investigated 8 secondary schools, 16 classes, and issued 964 copies of questionnaires, individual interviewed 32 students and observated 8 chemistry teachers' classroom teaching. Used the SPSS16.0 statistic software to process the cruising data, and combined with the qualitative analysis of the interviews and observations, Drawed the main conclusions as below initially:(1)The current general forming situation of overall chemical science concepts of high school students in Yulin City is on lower-middle level.(2)The forming situation of all aspects of chemical science concepts are not on balance, some concepts such as the chemical change concept, conservation concept and chemistry discipline value concept are in good situation, other concepts like the particle concept and chemistry method concept are in poor level.(3) There is very close relation between the formation of students' chemical science concept and the grasping of chemistry knowledge, but grasping chemistry knowledge well is not equal to the high level of chemical science concept.(4) The formation of concept has few relationship between the students' gender and thechemistry study interest.Based on the researching conclusions and the discussions, we proposed the following five teaching suggests to promote formating the chemical science concepts:(1) Take promoting formation the high schoolchemical science concepts as the pursuing goal, take and implement "concept-based "chemistry teaching.(2) Follow the formation rules of the chemical science concepts, guide and coach the pupils consciously to carry on the summary refinements of the corresponding knowledge and help them to construct the corresponding chemical science concepts gradually.(3) Master the teaching methods of the chemical science concepts formation, and teach with destination.(4)Make a deep understanding of the original chemistry concepts of students, particularly the wrong concepts,and carry on the target-oriented teaching . (5)Use chemistry history fully to promote constructing the chemical science concepts. |
