Under the present education system, the society pays close attention to the academic achievement which has a large number of impact factors. Former researches shows that parenting style is very important to the development of the children and the achievement goal orientation reflect the direction when an individual accomplish cognitive tasks. The first term of the 1st grade junior middle school is an adaptive period to the students who have just been transition from elementary school to middle school. During this period, students may expose a lot of adaptive problems. Therefore, my study aims at understanding the relationship of Parenting Style,Achievement Goal Orientation and Academic Achievement among the 1st Grade Junior Middle School Students, comparing the three factors of achievement goal orientation between the beginning of the term and the end of the term, exploring the prediction of the parenting style to the student's achievement goal orientation, and finding out whether the achievement goal orientation is a mediating factor when the parenting style impact on student's academic achievement.This study uses a questionnaire to 531 1st Grade Junior Middle School Students. Through statistical analysis, the results are as follows:1. Between the beginning of the term and the end of the term, the personal performance-approach goal orientation of 1st Grade Junior Middle School Students has a considerable promotion.2. Parents'moderate warmth, understanding, and punishment may predict student's master goal orientation to some extent. Parents'especially mother's more interference, protection, and punishment may predict student's performance-approach goal orientation to some extent. Mother's excessive interference, protection, denies, and punishment may predict student's performance-avoidance goal orientation to some extent.3. Parents'warmth and understanding directly effect student's academic achievement. Mother's excessive interference, protection and mother's refuse, denies effect student's academic achievement completely by effecting student's performance- avoidance goal orientation.
