Talents with the abilities of independent thinking, self-study, and great creativity are needed in the 21 century. According to this need, the Standards For the New Course points out the following requirements for Geography class: instead of teaching the student to learn what the teachers have taught, develop their ability to acquire knowledge by themselves; teach the students to grasp the methods of geography learning; and let them participate fully into Geography class. Geography Note Strategy answers to these requirements, because it can develop the students'acquisition and learning ability, and at the same time, easy their heavy work load.Based on some important theories of educational psychology this dissertation made some research on the topic of Geography Note Strategy. I first made a thorough investigation into the theories about the learning strategy home and abroad; Then earnestly arranged, analyzed and summarized these strategies, and obtained the characteristic of Geography Note Strategy. Then a scientific questionnaire was sent to each student, a thorough statistic analysis was conducted, and reasonable results were found.Through the research, the following results are found: the middle school students generally don't know how to make use of the Geography class notes; a few who can use it reasonably get better grades; most teachers and students don't know how to apply this strategy. According to the above conclusions, I put forward my own idea about Geography Note Strategy, on the purpose of enrich the present theories, advance the reform of Geography teaching, and lay a firm foundation for the students'future development.
