As a multinational country with a vast territory, China has gradually developed a unique architecture system mainly made up of cities, palaces, ancestral shrines, mausoleums, gardens and vernacular dwellings during a long history of thousands of years. In the history, stadiums, gymnasiums and sports facilities on large scales were not found. There stood mainly sporting arenas like Wa She and Gou Lan established since Song Dynasty. Surely their forms and appearances seem different in many ways when compared with modern stadiums and gymnasiums, but their multi-functionality and commercialization resembled the characteristics of modern stadiums and gymnasiums. Actually, they are spontaneously developed constructions by the locals, based on market demand. At the same time, they are group buildings that bare the features of multifunction. The folks not only watch sports and entertainment performances, but also have meals and listen to storytelling and singing in Wa She, a site with multiple operation conditions. In modern times, China stayed as a semi-colonial and semi-feudal society, and the collision of architectural cultures both domestic and foreign resulted in the emerging of various architecture forms, which combined the features of both eastern and western architecture. There appeared a large amount of western-style buildings with a keynote called eclecticism in many cities like Shanghai, Tianjin, Hankou, Qingdao, Dalian and Haerbin. After the May 4th Movement, national consciousness surged up and "promoting the inherent color of traditional Chinese architecture" became a common cry among building professions and the society in China. A large number of tradition-revitalizing buildings appeared during this time, and this wave inevitably affected the development of stadiums and gymnasiums in Chinese history. Under this wave, Jiang Wan Stadium of Shanghai designed by Dong Dayou became the most representative sports building. Gymnasiums in this brand new architecture form showed the symbol of traditional Chinese architecture art. This is supposed to be a bold attempt, and it made some headway, too. Certainly, gymnasiums basically are single-function government buildings during this period. When the liberation was made, sports undertakings in China welcomed a significant development, and the construction of stadiums and gymnasiums has also made progress. The achievements include numbers of excellent gymnasiums, such as the Workers' Gymnasium in Beijing, which is one of the ten great buildings in 1950s, the Capital Indoor Stadium and the Shanghai Stadium. In this period, construction of stadiums and gymnasiums was mainly carried out by the nation and government, so it bares strong political tint, and seldom consider the management and economy of the site. As a matter of fact, the special historical circumstances also contributed to it. After the reform and opening up, Chinese economy leapt forward and all walks of life stepped into the wave of commercialization. Among all these, the philosophy for the design of venues received the impact of commercialization, too. New ideas and concepts integrated into the design of venues. Although there has not been a complete system of marketing planning for venues design, some commercialization factors have influenced the design and construction, and yielded highly desirable results. For example, commercial facilities such as supermarket, health club and sports goods store are introduced into the design of Lu Wan Stadium and Hong Kou stadium in Shanghai. They have obtained remarkable social and economic benefits. With the rapid development of economy, stadium and gymnasium in China are expecting a golden age for their own rapid development.Through the literature material, autoptical investigation, mathematical statistics and questionnaire survey, this paper takes a study into the current condition of school sports facilities in Changchun as they are open to the public, as well as into the construction of management mode for resource sharing.
