On The Doctrine Of The Mean In The Role Of The Perfect Personality Of College Students

University Times is the critical period of the formation of a person's life and world view. Under the conditions of market economy, contemporary college students'thought, culture, ideas and traditional ones occur frictions and collisions, so that a considerable part of university produced a series of ideological confusion. Contemporary college students as a special group among social youths, they have received much more education, more extensive knowledge than others.As successors of the socialist cause, our socity gives them a higher expectations, the burdens on their shoulders are heavier, not only in knowledge, intelligence, ability and so on should be developed.but also should be a person with mental and personality health. In this paper through empirical studies has found contemporary college students who exist the below phenomena:strong ethical cognitive, but weak ethical behavior, will and self-control abilities, lack of independent consciousness and independence, psychological quality to be improved, weak ability to withstand setbacks and so on.Therefore, it is very urgent to highlight the social function of morality in the process of personality perfection.In Chinese traditional culture, paying attention to cultivation of consciousness and intiative and moral self-discipline, emphasing on maintenance of ethics, stressing the shape of personality and other cultural essence has real significance to restore the absence of personality for contemporary college students.The Doctrine of the Mean as a core part of Confucianism is an important component of our traditional culture.It inspired us right in the middle or neither right nor left in our thinking, never go to extremes in behavior, with "sincere" attitude to cultivate moral, in order to achieve self-perfection.
