The youth are the hope of this nation, and this is the reason why President Xi highly values the ideological and political education for university students. How to appropriately implement the ideological and political education among university students, and enhance the practicality of such education in order for the students to truly appreciate, and practise, the value of socialism with Chinese characteristics, is one of the most important tasks in the present ideological and political education.When facing difficulties in reality, people incline to look back into history, with the hope to absorb the essence from their own traditional culture, so as to seek answers to the questions.Traditional culture attaches great importance to moralization. Zhu Xi, the master of Song-Ming Neo-Confucianism,who is also known as a great philosopher, thinker and educator, had built a sophisticated moralization system which had exerted far reaching influence for generations.Although more than eight hundred years have passed, we still cannot afford to lose this tradition,and our ideological and political education should be rooted in our own traditional culture. This paper aims to analysis and organize the moralization ideology of Zhu Xi, with a view to arm the ideological and political education with the strength of tradition, so as to inspire the university ideological and political education work at both theoretical and practical levels.Divided into five chapters, this paper discusses and researches the theoretical foundation,rationale, objectives, the framework of Da Xue, and the methodology of Zhu Xi's moralization,and analyzes the practical enlightenments of each of these elements in university ideological and political education. Chapter ? discusses the theoretical foundation of Zhu Xi's moralization. This paper concludes that "Li Yi Fen Shu" and the "Theory of Humanity" are the thinking methodology and logical starting point of Zhu Xi's moralization,and has conducted a thorough study into the same. Chapter ? illustrates the rationale why Zhu Xi values moralization, i.e., that moralization is the foundation of ruling, and that moralizat:ion is the essence of personality; it also explores the inspiration of Zhu Xi's concentration on the moralization in the present university ideological and political education. Chapter ? reasons in detail that the basic objective of Zhu Xi's moralization is to "understand human relation" (Ming Ren Lun), and the ultimate objective being to cultivate"Sage" (Sheng Xian) personality; this chapter also suggests to learn from such theories and embed the same into the university ideological and political education. Chapter IV analyzes the "San Gang Ling" and "Ba Tiao Mu" in the framework of Da Xue, and explores their values in modem society. In Chapter V, this paper explores the development and enhancement of the ideological and political educations system by studying the mythologies of Zhu Xi's moralization,such as step-by-step learning, individualized teaching and equal discussion etc, with a view to inspire innovative ideological and political education methods.
