Art Colleges play an important role in China's higher education. Under the circumstance of society transition and idea variation, there is a huge challenge toward moral education in art colleges. This article, from the aspect of new-stage moral education in art colleges, analyzes the challenge moral education faces in the current situation. Based on this, it analyzes the reality of moral education in art colleges and proposes to strengthen and improve moral education in art colleges. The final aim is to turn passivity into initiation and turn challenge into opportunity.The article conducts the analysis and evaluation from three aspects:In the first part, it mainly discusses the challenge moral education in art colleges faces. It combs out the challenge moral education faces from the aspects of socialism market economy impact, diversified value influence during reformation and educational system reform changes, etc. During the process of socialism market economy replacing planned economy system, the complex interests entanglement which teachers and students faces is caused by the complexity of conflicting interests, the increase of competition and the tendency of commercialization of art. Under the pressure of balancing the interests of society, college and students themselves and under the pressure of competition and the influence of commercialization of art, some teachers and students might do something against social morality by any kinds of means to acquire advantage and benefit. Even some people, with increasing immoral ideas, will break the bottom line of law and morality and commit crimes. During the reform and opening, the diversification of our thought would cause the increase of the teachers and students'uncertainty and immorality. Especially under the influence of Chinese traditional and western ideas, their ideas and feelings become increasingly independent, selective, diversified and distinct. Their life becomes uncertain and incidental. People increasingly worship money and enjoyment, which blurs their value selection and judgment. As the reform and opening goes deeper, the conflict between Art College major and their students'employment, between students'quality and society's requirement, between course teaching and students'interests becomes more and more serious. And that will restrict the development of moral education in art colleges.In the second part, the article thoroughly discusses the situation of moral education in art colleges. It also discusses the current situation of moral education in art colleges from the aspects of general situation of moral education in art colleges, current problems and the bad effects it brings. The current situation of our country's moral education in art colleges is generally good, developing towards a right direction and gaining large amount of achievements. But at the same time there are still problems and shortages. Most of these shortages are caused by insufficient mobilization of the initiative of college, students and teachers. There are problems and shortages on the aspects of moral ideas, moral content and teacher groups in the moral education in art colleges, and the main manifestations are immature ideas of moral education, predictable contents of moral education and the ager-to-be-improved qualities of moral education teams. The work pattern of moral education comes into a passive shape. The content is outdated and the mode is rigid and bossy. The shortage of moral teachers, the age structure and degree structure is far beyond reasonable and that restricts the development of moral education. The problems in our country's moral education bring bad effects on teachers and especially most students. But the facts that extreme behaviors, fashionable character, lack of teamwork spirits and practical abilities are new issues for current moral education.In the third part, the article discusses art colleges'policies to strengthen and improve moral education. According to the character of art college major and students, it proposes feasible countermeasures from the aspects of direction of public opinion, cultivation mechanism and supervision and administration, etc. First, we should form a direction of public opinion about being versatile in art and morality. Through the methods of explanation of contemporary mean of being versatile in art and morality, clarification of current moral education's requirement towards artistic virtue, teacher's virtue and morality. Through wide propaganda and contrast, we should make teachers and students understand what we propose and what we oppose, which forms a good direction mechanism. Second, we should set up moral education practice system and a good moral education cultivation mechanism. Through flexible teaching practice, we could stabilize the Marxism's position. Through strengthening artistic moral practice, we could improve the cultivation of art major teachers and students. Through social practice, we could lead students to realize their value of life. Third, we should strengthen supervision and administration and focus on communication and persuasion. We should build a Trinity supervision pattern of society, art college teachers and students to enhance moral education. We should bring moral educators into full play and conduct internal supervision and administration. Then we could form a good communication mechanism and solve teachers and students'psychological issues in time.
