The essay is focus on the faculty management of private university in our country. Through a review on the past, this essay sums up the achievements of the rapid developments of private university. Nowadays, with the help of the relevant laws, statutes and policies for private higher education, the private university has become the important component part of china higher education. By the end of 2006, the number of private universities had reached to 278. But With the further development of the private university, the problem about the faculty management of private university is to desiderate to be solved. So the essay will focus on analyzing the problem of the faculty management of the private university.The essay points out the problems in both macroscopic aspect and microcosmic aspect. In macroscopic aspect, relevant laws, statutes and policies for the private university are still far from perfect; and some statutes cannot been enforced well. In microcosmic aspect, there are also many problems such as laggard concept on management; unsystematic employing management, impropriety of the faculty structure, the instability of teachers group, the difficulty of sequel education, the imperfect motivation and performance evaluation and so on. Based on the above analysis, the essay thinks that the following methods could be adopted: for the governments, the relevant policies and measures should be completed; the government should adopt more active human resources and financial policies for private university. And the bias on the private education should be corrected. For private university, from the developing and management of human resources'point of view, the essay brings forwards a new concept on the faculty management of private university, and gives corresponding advice on standardization of the employing management. Besides that, the structure of the faculty should be improved, the faculty need to keep stable, and more opportunities of sequela education should be provided to teachers to increase their professional skills. And the motivation must be humanism, and performance evaluation system must be full-scale.The author hopes that the ideas and suggestions brought up in this essay to solve the problems of faculty managements will be helpful for promoting the persistent and rapid development of the private higher education in our country.
