Along with the enlarging enrollment in higher education, the quantity of graduates from colleges and universities grew rapidly in recent years, and the employment situation was increasingly grim. Under the influence of global financial crisis, this problem gets even worse. As an important means to promote employment of university students, vocational guidance services are increasingly receiving more attention. Specialized agencies of vocational guidance have been established since the 90s in Chinese colleges and universities, but some of them were not very good. There was still a certain distance between the supply of universities and the need of society. Generally speaking, the vocational guidance in colleges and universities has the following characteristics:â‘ In the concept of guidance, the universities play a role in "salesman" instead of "promoter", lack of strategic consciousness from long run;â‘¡In the content of guidance, which is considered as helping students to find jobs, lack of guidance for long-term career planning;â‘¢In the practice of guidance , the universities play a role in "manager" more than "servicer", who put more focus on management and control;â‘£In the summary of guidance , researching work is not very common, the universities play a role which is lack of learning consciousness. This provides the author a way to do some research on the role conversion of vocational guidance in colleges and universities, such as promoter, guide, servicer and researcher.The author started this paper with the problems lying in university vocational guidance nowadays. First of all, the author reviewed the status of vocational guidance in a brief introduction, and then combining with the example of Y University's research results, analyzed the current role conversion of vocational guidance not very satisfactory .Thus put out the necessity and importance to solve this problem. Secondly, based on this current situation, the author analyzed the reason why vocational guidance in universities had these problems. Then on the basis of learning from typical examples of university vocational guidance in western countries, the author tried to build the PGSR role model in vocational guidance which is suitable for our China's conditions. Finally, under the guidance of this theoretical model, combined with Y University's specific situation, the author proposed some solutions and a number of thought to this specific issue. During this study, many subjects have been used as the theoretical basis, for example, Marketing, Sociology, Education, Economics, and Management. Take Y university as a case,and through the questionnaires, individual interviews and other methods, the author try to do some research on the role conversion of vocational guidance in colleges and universities, which aims to explore ways out of traditional vocational guidance in universities, and provide some references for school administrators, in order to realize the employment of college graduates going on smoothly.
