The Practical Research Of The Integrity Of Knowledge And Ability

Knowledge and ability are two basic concepts in the field of education. The organiccombination of the learning of knowledge and nourishment of knowledge based ability is animportant and difficult problem. So some problems on their relationship have been valued andexplored by many scholars and cooperation-education and problem-based-learning are some fruitof their exploration. There are some defects in these explorations, for they catch one and loseanother in solving the problem of the relationship between knowledge and ability.The emerging model of CDIO emphasizes the link between knowledge and ability andprovides new ideas and models in combining the learning of knowledge and nourishment ofknowledge based ability. This paper tries to explore how the model of CDIO avoid the problemsand defects and organically combine the learning of knowledge and nourishment of knowledgebased ability smoothly by analyzing problems in present methods which explores thecombination of the both. In the long run, the paper can supply some references in solving thelong-standing problems in the combination of the both in other fields of education.Firstly, this paper tries to find the reasons of present methods,such ascooperation-education and problem-based-learning,can't realize the organic combination of theknowledge and ability. Secondly, the paper describes the model of CDIO from the angels ofconcept, object, Framework, vision and standards. Thirdly, the paper explore how the model ofCDIO avoid the problems and defects and organically combine the knowledge and abilitysmoothly by analyzing the problems in present Practice from the angels of the objects,curriculum, teaching method and education evaluation. Finally, the paper tries to explore theproblems, which should be pay attention to, in the practice of the model CDIO in the organiccombination of knowledge and ability, and some references and implies for other applieddisciplines.
