In different language, There will be different characteristics for expressing gratitude.of course, in Korean, expressing gratitude has its own applicative conditions. But in previous studies, comprehensive analysis of expressing gratitude in Korean language system is very few as well as the comparative analysis of Chinese and Korean gratitude. So this paper is a new attempt to this kind of research.In order to make a comprehensive research we used three TV series:"to beautiful you","medical team", and "you are my fate" as the corpus, we have identified614direct grateful expressing and419indirect t grateful expressing. Focusing on these data, we mainly studied:when people need to express gratitude; the types and the applicative conditions of grateful expressing in Korean; the similarities and differences between Chinese and Korean grateful expressing; the implications of these on the teaching Chinese as the second language for Korean people.In general1:Korean people often express gratitude in ten situations:when getting help, when getting care, when feeling the kindness, when getting agreement, when getting comfort, when getting support, when getting understanding, accepting others and being recognized by others:2Korean grateful expressing can be divided into direct and indirect expressions;3There are three direct grateful expressing:(?);4the kinds of the indirect grateful expressing are nine:reason, questioning and accusing, showing care, supposing, praising, promising, apologizing, subjective feeling and blessing;5some social parameters have a great influence on the grateful expressing:close relationships, social estate,the benefit level and age.For example, the lower and the younger generation often use"(?)"to express gratitude, while the people who are at the same level or have the close relationship often use "(?)" and "(?)".And the word"(?)"has a deeper gratitude level than the worlds "(?)" and "(?)".6Chinese and Korean gratitude expressing has the same points:(1) Chinese and Korean gratitude expressing reflects the characteristics of high context culture.(2) Chinese and Korean gratitude expressing embodies the characteristics of traditional patriarchal society relationship; at the same time, they are also very different:(1) Korean gratitude expressing presents such features as wide range and high frequency.(2) Lots of the indirect expressions of gratitude are used together with the direct expressions of gratitude, in order to strengthen the speaker’s gratitude level (3) Many Korean gratitude expressions are of highly stylized;8when teaching Chinese as a second language for Korean people we should attach importance to the related context,culture as well as the similarities and differences between the gratitude expressions of two countries, avoiding the expressive usage of gratitude expressions in depth and range.
